My name is LaTonia Edwards 

I am a survivor of child sexual abuse and military sexual assault turned Trauma Informed Wellness Coach. I help others who have experienced sexual trauma heal and thrive after sexual abuse, trauma, or violence. My focus is on helping survivors learn how to accept, forgive, and love themselves fully.

About Me.

Recovering Your Soul is a unique business providing a safe space for those looking to reclaim their power and transform their lives.

 

Latonia is a mother, speaker, author, disabled veteran, survivor, and trauma-informed Wellness Coach. She is also a Master of Habit Change. Latonia is a certified Human Trafficking Prevention and Intervention specialist, health and wellness coach, life coach, Steward of Children, Crisis Intervention Specialist, mentor, and founder of Recovering Your Soul. LaTonia uses compassion, empathy, love, and other tools and resources to help other survivors find their way back to their authentic selves and learn how to thrive.

In her free time, she serves on the executive committee of 6ix inc, which offers support for women who have experienced sexual trauma while serving in the military on Active Duty, the Reserves, or the National Guard and supports them through their journey of mental, emotional, and physical healing.

​Latonia volunteers as the secretary for the Military & Veterans Women's Coalition, a national group of formal and informal organizations that work collaboratively to serve and support US active duty, Guard, Reserve, Veteran, and retired servicewomen by uniting and elevating their voices to influence policy and improve their well-being.

CCE-accredited by the International Coach Federation. Certified to practice as a health coach.

Darkness to Light 

Prevention training on how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse crisis and sexual exploitation. Designed for individuals concerned about the safety of children as well as organizations that serve youth. The online version allows individuals to take the training at any time or place, at a pace of their choosing.

BA in Psychology with a Concentration in Mental health

Southern New Hampshire University 

Designed to explore the nature of mental health and its role in the lives of individuals, families, and society. Through courses focused on research and theory in psychology, students will gain an understanding of the biological and psychological components of mental health, the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, and the impact of mental health on interpersonal relationships and communities.

Psychological First Aid

John Hopkins University 

Provide psychological first aid to people in an emergency by employing the RAPID model: Reflective listening, Assessment of needs, Prioritization, Intervention, and Disposition.

Utilizing the RAPID model (Reflective listening, Assessment of needs, Prioritization, Intervention, and Disposition), this specialized course provides perspectives on injuries and trauma beyond those physical. The RAPID model is readily applicable to public health.

Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV)

Case Law and Domestic Violence in Georgia,  Federal and State Confidentiality Requirements for Domestic Violence Programs, Helping Survivors Navigate Credit and Debt Issues: Tools for Economic Safety, Promoting Wellness: Women’s Health and Domestic Violence Advocacy, Promoting Wellness: Women’s Health and Domestic Violence Advocacy, Economic Abuse, and safety planning. 

Mission

What I do and Why I do it. 

As a survivor of sexual trauma, Latonia knows survivors require a unique path to healing, stress and anxiety management, and overall well-being. Her mission is to help survivors of sexual trauma get out of survival mode and start thriving. Latonia wants to help black and brown women & men start their journey to healing.  Latonia helps survivors find happiness within themselves by creating a safe space for truth and healing. The healing journey is provided through coaching sessions, online courses, prevention information, and other resources promoting lasting change.
