Types of Stress


Healthy Stress -Stress is a normal reaction to changes and challenges in your daily life. A small amount of stress is common and nothing to be concerned about. In short bursts, stress can help you avoid danger, keep you alert, or meet deadlines by causing your body to release surges of adrenaline.

Chronic Stress - is a prolonged period of emotional, physical, or psychological strain caused by a variety of factors such as work, relationships, finances, or other life events. It can lead to physical and mental health problems, such as headaches, fatigue, depression, and anxiety. Stress becomes an issue when stressors continue without relief, downtime, or periods of relaxation.

Internal Stress-Is the most common cause of stress. Internal Stress comes from within. Your fears, beliefs, uncertainty, or feeling out of control.

External Stress-Are events and situations that happen to you or around you. For example, a positive change, new marriage, a planned pregnancy, a promotion, or a new house. Negative change, such as the death of a loved one, being injured, losing a job, or a divorce. Positive and negative changes both cause stress.
